Yeast Infection - Natural Remedy For A Yeast Infection

You've probably seen countless commercials and ads for vaginal yeast infection treatments. You've probably also suffered the intense itching, redness, burning, vaginal discharge, painful urination and painful sexual intercourse associated with having a yeast infection.

But how much do you actually know about a yeast infection? What causes it and where it comes from?

In fungal vaginitis, most often caused the bacteria Candida albicans, raised grey or white lesions surrounded by red areas are formed. These lesions can produce a thick white curd like discharge. What most people don't know or understand is that this bacteria is relatively common and is present in the natural microflora of 20% of non-pregnant women and 30% of pregnant ones. It normally doesn't cause any problems until something upsets the balance of good bacteria to the bad Candida albicans bacteria. When this happens the Candida bacteria overwhelm the body's natural good bacteria and a yeast infection is born.

So what can cause this disruption in the balance between the good and bad bacteria? There are a number of causes, some of which can be avoided more than others.

1. Antibiotics - using antibiotics to fight one type of infection can also kill the good bacteria that keep the yeast bacteria in check.

2. Clothing - Tight or non cotton clothing such as your underwear creates the perfect warm moist environment for yeast to grow in.

3. Chemicals - Such as those found in laundry detergents or on scented toilet papers can upset the bacterial balance.

4. Condoms - Recent studies have found that condoms with nonoxynol-9, a spermicide, can kill off the good bacteria.

5. Hormones - Changes in hormone levels can cause yeast infections, particularly in pregnant women.

6. Sexual transmission - Candida can be transferred between sexual partners. Yes, men can get it too.

7. Weakened Immune System - The body's natural defenses are incapable of dealing with an outbreak of yeast. This is more apparent in women with HIV or Lyme disease.

There are some natural remedies for a yeast infection. They normally involve restoring the balance of good bacteria to bad bacteria and can be an effective way to counter the affects of the causes of a yeast infection.

1. Acidophilus and Bifidus - These are bacteria that kill yeast and are normally present in healthy women. You can get them by eating yogurt with live cultures. You can also take a lactobacillus/acidophilus supplement found at any health food store. You can also find acidophilus suppositories which are effective in killing the yeast.

2. Decrease your sugar intake. Sugar creates a yeast growing environment.

3. Douche - There are two types you can try. One is a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp of vinegar per quart of water. Use this once a day for no longer than a week. The second type is a herbal douche. Use equal parts of raspberry, comfrey and sage mixed with ? part goldenseal and mixed with a cider vinegar.

4. There are over the counter yeast infection medications. If you use one of these make sure they contain Nystatin or imidazole.

If you have never had a yeast infection before it is important that you see your doctor for an accurate diagnosis before trying any type of treatment. You don't want to be treating a condition you don't have. You also will need to see your doctor if your symptoms persist, as they will be able to make an accurate diagnosis of your condition and suggest the proper treatment.

Yeast Infection - The Most Popular Natural Cure For Yeast Infection

Cures for yeast infections can come in many forms. With all the problems and side effects that can arise from taking medications I can't say that I blame you for seeking out a natural cure for yeast infection. But, if for nothing else than you never know if the natural cures will work for you, you should really learn about some prescription medication, even if it is only superficially.

You never know when knowledge of these will come in handy, and since the section below isn't that long either, you have more to gain than lose by reading it. And really, the only reason for it was that the use of medications to cure yeast infections, although not considered natural remedies, also do come in handy sometimes.

By going through this section you will be better equipped to make that crucial decision: Prescription or Natural?

Prescription Medication

You might not be aware of it but until very recently, prescription medications were the only remedies that were available to those suffering from yeast infections. Over the counter medications were virtually unheard of, and the only other solution that women were taking was that of the home-remedy path.

It also wasn't until very recently that even prescription medications for yeast infections were something other than what amounted to generic anti-fungal medicines. To go at it from the point of view of history there are a number of prescription medications for yeast infections, but not all of them are what you might want inside your body.

That being said, if it works and clears up your infection then that's all that you really want isn't it? The list of the prescription medications that I've made below starts off with one medication that's supposed to be able to clear up yeast infections with only one dosage. The rest of the list comprises of only a very few of the prescription medications that exist for the control and cure of yeast.

By no stretch of imagination can any of the prescription medications or any of the over the counter medicines be classed as natural.

? Diflucan - taken orally

? Mycostatin - vaginal tablets

? Terazol - vaginal cream

? Gynazole - vaginal cream

Acidophilus - The Most Popular Natural Cure for Yeast Infection

Acidophilus is basically good bacteria and can be found naturally in yogurts, which is why yogurt is such a popular home remedy for curing yeast infections. However, acidophilus can also be taken by itself without the aid of yogurt, and the mess that sometimes accompanies using yogurt as a cure.

The way that it works is that the Lactobacillus Acidophilus bacteria (the good bacteria), fights the Candida Albicans bacteria (the bad bacteria) by producing lactic acid. Since the Candida bacteria, definitely does not thrive in an acidic environment, the Acidophilus will win the battle.

Unless of course you give reasons for your vagina to reduce its acidity levels once again! It is said that the lactic acid produced by the Acidophilus bacteria acts like a natural antibiotic for your body.

For the most part acidophilus is available freely in most pharmacies, and if you can't find it, just ask the staff. They should be able to point you in the right direction. And if you don't find that the capsules are helping you, you might want to try switching over to the powdered form, or even as a suppository.

Freshly Applied

This remedy is found to be the best way to get the yogurt where you need it when you need it, but it can be very messy. The way to go about this is to coat the outer lips or the labia, the vulva, and inside the vagina with the yogurt.

To insert yogurt into the vagina you might want to use a speculum or maybe even try one of the other methods that I've mentioned in the next sections. You will find that you get immediate relief from the itching and the burning sensation.

However, and this applies for the remedies where you need to introduce the yogurt into the vagina, don't keep the yogurt for a long period of time. This can irritate you as much as not having applied the yogurt in the first place. So be sure to wash it off after it's done its job and apply a new coating only when you need it. That said you can continue with this cure until you're completely better.

Yogurt Tampon

This is simply what it says it is. All you need to do is take a tub of the unsweetened yogurt and dip a tampon into it. Then you can insert the yogurt covered tampon into your vagina for instant relief. Don't keep this yogurt tampon in too long however as any good effects will be wiped out and you might find yourself back to square one.

Yeast Infection - Is Sex a Cause Of Yeast Infection In Man?

How can you resist the incredible, subtle, yet intoxication smell of a beautiful woman? After she moans her approval from the locking of your lips, you move to her neck and gently kiss it. You pause for a moment as you get lost in her eyes and understand her message; it's time to move to the bedroom. You rip off the covers of the bed and jump under the sheets and once you are finished you feel content and as if you are in a wonderful dream. Thankfully you will not have to worry about pregnancy or STD's as you remembered your protection, but what about yeast infection in man? Days later, reality sets in.

Your penis has developed a reddish irritation and is constantly itchy. Your mind recalls an article you read identifying these symptoms as those of a yeast infection in man. With the itchiness and irritation you are now suffering from you realize your imagination was nothing compared to the realities of these horrors.

You allow some time to pass, trying to ignore your yeast infection symptoms, hoping they will go away. But then as you are showering, you look down and can only stare at the morbid manifestation, the penile yeast infection you are suffering from has made itself grimily more apparent. Now with soreness, white discharge, blisters similar to those of genital herpes; almost every known symptom of yeast infection in man has made itself known right there on your penis. Beneath the endless screams of profanity, you can clearly hear the question being asked over and over again in your mind; How, and why me?

It makes little to no difference in the fact that you are among the few men who not only know it is possible but can recognize the symptoms of yeast infection in man. As important as that knowledge is seeking remedy for the condition, a much greater importance comes in the knowledge of the causes and ways to prevent yeast infection in man.

As an example, sex is one of the biggest causes of yeast infection in man, specifically penile yeast infection. This is caused by a man having intercourse with an infected woman. Although not a guarantee that a man who sleeps with an infected woman will contract a male yeast infection, one must understand that it is much better to be safe than sorry, especially when dealing with yeast infection in man.

Infection through intercourse is not just one-sided either. A man who has a yeast infection can very likely infect an unsuspecting woman. This fact alone should suffice as proof that man must be just as aware of their yeast infection as a woman is, not just to look out for his own health, but that of his partners as well. In all actuality, men should actually be more vigilant in this manner as the symptoms of yeast infection in man are not always visible.

In the end, yeast infections will continue to just as much of a threat to men as they are to women. But, with a little awareness, members of both sexes can go a long way in warding off the disease. Coming to terms with, and spotting the symptoms of yeast infection in man are simply not enough. One must educate themselves on knowing exactly what can expose you to, and how you can avoid, the terrible ailment of yeast infection in man.

Yeast Infection - Cure For Yeast Infection

If you have a yeast infection, you are certainly not alone. 3 out of every 4 persons, or 75% of the population, suffer from some sort of yeast infection at some time in their lives. You may be surprised to learn that it's not just women that can be plagued with yeast infections - anyone can get them - men, women, children, babies, and the elderly.

And just like many of those other people, you get some medicine to treat the infection and it clears up. But after a while you get an infection again. That's because the medicines just cleared up the symptoms but not the cause. You will always have a low level of the yeast cells still present just waiting until conditions are right for another flare-up, because you haven't treated what caused the infection in the first place. You need a permanent cure for yeast infection, a cure that eliminates the root cause.

You should know that a yeast infection can be chronic and hidden, with strange or unusual symptoms occurring from time to time in many different forms, and varying from person to person. For some people the symptoms can even change from day to day, depending on a person's general health or genetic makeup; an ache here today, a pain there tomorrow; a headache today, stomach pain tomorrow; but nothing you can really put your finger on. Unless you get a permanent cure for yeast infection by treating the root cause you won't solve the problem.

Why can your symptoms of yeast infection be so varied? Well, for one person it may be vaginal irritation, or painful urination, or an under arm rash or oral thrush. But for someone else it could be the cause of weight gain, or depression, or insomnia, or lack of energy, or early aging. You are unique, different from everyone else, and your symptoms can be also. You can be affected by a yeast infection, both internally and externally, in almost any part of your body.

If you search on the Internet for a cure for yeast infection, you'll find a lot of advice, some good but mostly very bad. You'll find hundreds of remedies and dangerous drugs and the majority of sites will tell you that you'll be cured as long as you keep on using their drugs or remedies. But if you do, you'll find those drugs or remedies don't treat the root cause of the yeast infection - they only mask the symptoms for a while. Then your yeast infection becomes drug-resistant to the treatment and it comes back even worse than before; more pain, more suffering and more drugs. And so you learn the hard way that with such drugs and remedies you can't get your cure for yeast infection.

But the great truth is - you'll be glad to learn - all forms of yeast infection, thrush, and Candida can be cured permanently - that means, once and for all completely eliminated. You can treat the root cause of yeast infection and you can do it easily and safely in the privacy of your home. You can do it with a natural permanent cure for yeast infection that has been neglected by modern medicine because, as a natural cure, it can't be patented by anyone and so it doesn't interest any drug company - there's no business in it.

You can be sure it's 100% safe (it can even be used in pregnancy and with babies) and that it will work for you in the same way it has worked for countless other people. Immediately, you will experience significant relief of your symptoms. You will start to feel better quickly and, more importantly, as the days go by you will feel a whole new glow of health as this natural, permanent cure for yeast infection progresses throughout your body.

Yeast Infection - Yeast Infection In Men - The Band Aid Theory Doesn't Stick

What is Band-Aid Theory? Band Aid Theory has found a home in the medical language and is thrown around in discussions about Candidiasis, commonly known as thrush or yeast infection. But what is this theory, really? Does the prevalence in Candidiasis treatment debate even touch on the lesser-known subject of yeast infection in men?

The band-aid theory is what the name implies in the role of treating injuries. Let's say you get in a biking accident and scrape your knee- its standard procedure to cover the wound with a band-aid. Time goes by and after a couple of days later- poof it's all better!

It seems that the band-aid magically healed you. In truth the band-aid role was minimal in your recovery. Water (H2O) cleaned your wound, the disinfectant is killed germs- and encouraged recovery, and time allowed flesh to recuperate. And the band-aid? It merely covered the wound, allowing it to quickly heal. That's it. The band-aid played a superficial part in recovery.

That attribute is how the band-aid theory is linked to yeast infection. When a physician diagnoses soreness and irritation on the head of the penis as penile yeast infection, drugs are normally recommended to treat the condition. The drugs address the irritation of the penis, another yeast infection in men, or the white discharge typical of a Candida yeast infection. The drugs play a very small role in actually curing the yeast infection in men.

Doctor's prescriptions normally produce good results, but they do not last. This is because the root of the problem is not cured: the cause why the patient has penile yeast infection in the first place. Symptoms improve and it may seem that the yeast infection in men has subsided, but this is only temporary. Visible symptoms may disappear but yeast infection in men can easily be hidden and seem like it has been cured.

The Band-Aid theory begs a question: if the medication only targets the symptoms- is yeast infection in men permanent? Yeast infection in its simplicity is a flaw in the bodily function, the answer lies in the holistic view of health.

Looking at the infection is not an isolated condition, but simply a trigger in a larger system- the human body. The human body is always focusing on getting healthier and the body will respond to the infection and try to get rid of it. Which means that the holistic approach to health will have longer lasting benefits.

This explains why natural treatment of yeast infection is growing. Experts know that yeast infection in men should not be cured with a band-aid. Click here for more information on yeast infection in men.

Yeast Infection - Natural Yeast Infection Remedies Are Perfect Yeast Fighters

Natural yeast infection remedies are preferred by the health-conscious. Even though over-the-counter and prescribed treatments are easily available, those who are looking for more lasting solutions to their yeast infection problem are now turning to natural remedies for yeast infection. Simply put, most natural yeast infection remedies are not only effective in combating yeast infection, they can be used on a more regular basis without any harmful repercussions on our health.

Natural yeast infection remedies can be easy to prepare. Folks always have this mindset that grabbing a medication or two at the pharmacy or clinic is the easiest and most convenient thing to do. This is not actually the case as natural yeast infection remedies too can be concocted with homemade ingredients. You get to save money and time waiting for consultation with your doctor.

We have a number of natural yeast infection remedies that have been reported to provide quick relief and healing for yeast infection.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy 1 - Plain Yoghurt

You may have heard about this. Yoghurt is rich in acidophilus which is a natural yeast killer. Use only non-flavored yoghurt without sugar content. There are different ways to use yoghurt to cure yeast infection. You can either apply it directly in the vagina using a yoghurt-dipped tampon or douche with water. Some folks prefer it to be frozen as a popsicle. It is said to be extremely soothing though you would experience a slight sting initially. Eating yoghurt brings the acidophilus directly into our bodies. Normally the yeast infection would go off in a matter of days.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy 2 - Acidophilus

Its effect was explained earlier in plain yoghurt. You can get hold of pure acidophilus in certain foods, milks and diary products. Head to the supermarket for some shopping and read the product labels. Alternatively, you can find them in powdered form at health food shops.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy 3 - Gentian Violet

Smear gentian violet over the yeast infected area. Remember to wear a pad when you use this remedy. It probably works after the first round of treatment.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy 4 - Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most potent natural yeast infection remedies. But we would not recommend using it as a direct topical medication because of its sting. Dilute it with water as a douche or take a bath in the apple cider vinegar-water solution.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy 5 - Buttermilk

Buttermilk would build up your resistance against yeast infection. Be sure to drink at least one glass daily during the infected period. The yeast infection should clear up much faster.

Yeast Infection - What are the Yeast Infection Signs

As you may or may not know you could be suffering from a yeast infection without even knowing it or else you could totally mistake it for something else. Knowing what the yeast infection signs are could help you discover whether you have a yeast infection or not. Although you must be aware that sometimes these signs are the same as some other infections.

So the first thing you should do is consult your doctor if you think you have some or all of the yeast infection signs. First this will inform you whether you are infected or not and if you are this will help you determine what is the proper medication for you.

If you find out you have all the yeast infection signs and decide that you want to get rid of it yourself then there is a lot of possibilities available to you. First there are of course medications like Monistat available but there is also other natural ways to get rid of a yeast infection.

For some people using medication (like Monistat) will work but not in the long run. You see by using it over and over, you are making your body used to it, and in turn immune to it. The side effect of this is when you will really need it won't work for you anymore. Therefore using more natural methods can be the solution for you.

Some of the yeast infection sings are the following:

- rash
- itching
- burning sensation
- vaginal discharge
- pain during sexual intercourse
- redness and soreness of the irritated area
- swelling of the vulva

Probably the most unbearable symptoms of all the yeast infection signs is that of the itching. The worst part is that it can interfere with your daily life. Using medication that can give you instant relief is probably the best way to go.

Some of the thing you can do to help yourself getting rid of the itching would be to employ something like Aloe Vera Juice; you just need to apply a little bit on the affected area with a cotton pad.

Other yeast infection signs like the burning sensation when urinating or the pain you might feel during sexual intercourse can interfere with your daily life. You should always treat those symptoms as fast as possible as they could herald other medical conditions.

One other yeast infection sign that can cause problems is the vaginal discharge. It can cause you problems (not all the time). Depending on the scent and texture of the discharge you may need to take steps to help yourself.

The Vaginal Discharge can be like:

- odourless and thin milky-like
- strong and pungent scent
- yeasty or sulphuric in nature
- different consistency (from thin milk-like to cottage Cheese-like)

You should always consider yeast infection signs very seriously and even more seriously if you are the type to get recurring signs. It could very well be the signs that your yeast infections signs are more symptoms of something else rather than being the cause itself.

Yeast Infection - What You Eat Is What You Get - Yeast Infection In Men

If you think the size of your waistline is the only reason to be aware of the food you eat, think again. Slimming down is a good motivator for dieting and I want to tell you that being aware of what you eat can help in a variety of ways; from preventing yeast infection in man to accelerating recovery from a serious illness. In the world of food you might want to consider giving up that sugar treat for your overall health. Believe me a huge belly and man boobs are nothing compared to a yeast infection symptom in man.

Most of us get great emotional satisfaction from eating the foods we like to eat. It's part of our daily lifestyle to enjoy that doughnut on the run or that leisurely pasta dinner with wine and garlic bread at our favorite Italian restaurant. And don't forget the chocolate eclairs! We indulge way beyond what would be our basic nourishment requirements. Though our taste buds have great enjoyment, our choices are most definitely not manna from heaven and we pay dearly in many ways.

We pay with the quality our health. We don't just feed ourselves, we often feed a host of undesirables, such as Candida fungi (yeast infection parasite), and so the type of calories we consume is extremely important. The wrong type of calories can create the right type of environment for yeast infection in man. To the Candida fungi what you eat can be a feast or a famine.

The simple act of adding an extra spoonful of white sugar to coffee every day can increase the likelihood of yeast infection in man. Yeast cells love sugar. People with an excess of sugar in their systems, like diabetics, often have high sugar levels in their urine, making them more prone to penile yeast infection for example.

The food we eat determines if a yeast infection thrives or dies within us. If you don't know what to eat as it relates to yeast, you may unknowingly be feeding the Candida fungi as you feed yourself. Just the possibility of yeast infection in man should be enough to prompt you to learn about and be safe with a yeast infection diet. Wouldn't you agree?

A yeast infection diet not only can provide relief from yeast infection in man such as penile yeast infection, it can and usually does increase a person's overall health and well-being. A yeast infection diet changes the environment in the entire body, by eating foods that are unhealthy for yeast, which happen to be foods that are healthy for you!

A simple change in the type of foods we eat in our diets can positively affect us in many ways. In addition to loosing that huge belly or man boobs, you can improve your overall health and well being and prevent yeast infection in man. Why wait until you don't feel good to start on a diet that can get you feeling great?

Yeast Infection - Yeast Infections

It is commonly believed that yeast infections are exclusive to women. This, however, is a gross misconception. Yeast infections can occur in both men and women.

A yeast infection is a very common type of infection; nearly seventy-five percent of all women get a yeast infection at least once in their lives, and at least half of all women have had multiple infections. The fungus that causes yeast infection is present in everybody, and its growth is being regulated by bacteria that are also naturally present in the body. A slight disruption in this balance can cause the yeast to rapidly grow unregulated, which ultimately is the cause of the infection.

There are many contributing factors that may cause the disruption of the bacterial balance in the genital area. Overusing antibiotics is a common cause of yeast infections; the antibiotics will not only kill the bad bacteria, but it will also kill the good bacteria that regulate the yeast in your body. Killing these good bacteria will allow the yeast to grow unregulated, causing an infection. Change in hormone levels can also contribute to the formation of a yeast infection by changing the pH balance of the vaginal area. If the genital area becomes too acidic the bacterial balance could be disrupted.

Symptoms of this infection include itching and a burning sensation in the genital area, a white discharge that looks like cottage cheese, pain during intercourse, and swelling of the vulva.

Yeast infections are usually treated with antifungal medications. If you are suffering from your first yeast infection, it would be a good idea to see your doctor. It is important to have a proper diagnosis before beginning an antifungal treatment. Taking antifungal mediation when unnecessary can cause the yeast to develop a resistance to the medication. So it is important to only take medicine when suffering from a yeast infection.

Yeast Infection - What You Eat Will Destroy Yeast Infection In Men

If you think the size of an ever increasing belly is the only reason for you to watch what you eat, then you are misguided and seriously need to reconsider. You can prevent yeast infection in man by watching what you eat. Or if you are unfortunate enough to be struggling with this debilitating illness, it will allow you to recover.

A large gut and and fatty man boobs are nothing compared to to a yeast infection symptom in man. So if you do not think it is worth putting away your candy bars and sodas then you have had fair warning!

It is easy for any of us who have experienced a particularly tasty meal, and that really satisfied feeling of contentment we feel afterwards, that it is almost a lifestyle in itself. Then again this attitude towards the food we really relish is dangerous. All that we consume from the jellied doughnut to the fancy, rich French dinner comes at a price to us physically.

The price that we pay is with our health and well-being, and calorie counts do not even come into it. Yeast infection in man is affected by your diet...period! What we consume is the difference in us being a 24 ounce steak dinner or a processed chicken burger to the candida fungi, in terms of it being attracted to us.

An example in point here would be with diabetes sufferers. Due to the abnormally high sugar levels in their urine, this provides an excellent habitat for yeast formation and subsequently penile yeast infection for the sufferer. This simply means that consistently taking an extra spoon of white sugar in your coffee may eventually expose you to dangers of yeast infection in man.

You really don't want this to happen but what you are eating right now could be feeding the candida fungi. Yeast infection in its simplest form lives and dies by what we eat. The threat of a yeast infection symptom in man is not worth taking a risk with a poorly constructed diet. As that is the case, why not go with a yeast infection diet instead?

The great additional bonus of a yeast infection diet is that it also promotes general well-being. The purpose is not to prevent any of the symptoms of yeast infection in man. It is to turn the body into a deadly environment for this infection, thus eliminating it and making you a healthy person at the same time. Prevention rather than cure.

Don't let it take a symptom of yeast infection in man to get you trying this diet. The opportunity of avoiding this terrible infection and perhaps also a fat belly is surely enough reason to start on the yeast infection diet and benefit greatly from it.

Yeast infection will never "just go away" of its own accord. Click here to discover the best ways to cure yeast infection in man forever. Go to http://eliminateyeastinfectioninman.blogspot.com

Yeast Infection - Causes Of Yeast Infection - A Genuine Help For Yeast Infection Victims Through Home Remedies

Nearly 75% of the women in this world suffer from this yeast infection at one time or another in their lives. This is followed by various symptoms of yeast infection like itching, burning, pain, and discharge having a "baked bread" odor, and reddening of the labia and, sometimes, the upper thigh. It can occur mainly anywhere on your body especially, underarms, between toes and genital organs, etc. in both men and women. But its more common in women.

What is a Yeast Infection?

Yeast are minute organisms (Candida fungus) living in small numbers on human body. But the condition worsens the moment these organisms start to grow. Have you ever noticed that diaper rash covering the little bottom of your baby? This is nothing else than yeast infection. And this kind of thrush often develops in the mouth of the babies. And this sort of yeast infection is called mouth yeast infection.

Recurrent yeast infections indicate that something or the other within you or your baby is going wrong or out of balance.

Causes of Yeast Infection

What happens, there is a mild acid pH environment in your healthy vagina and it keeps Candida and other microorganisms from multiplying thereby preventing to cause infection. If your vagina is rich in acids, then it will prevent yeast from growing. With the decreasing levels of acidity in your vagina, the yeast starts growing rapidly causing yeast infection. There is a fungus called Candida albicans that causes vaginal yeast infections.

Several other causes that play havoc to your vaginal environment are:

1. Menstruation: Some women complain of having yeast flare-ups just before or after their menstrual period. This causes a lot of discomfort and annoyance to the sufferer.

2. Pregnancy: In pregnancy, your hormones go through a lot of changes thereby resulting in an imbalance in the vaginal pH and this increases the production of blood sugar feeding the infectious organisms. But this happens to most of the pregnant women, and not to all.

3. Antibiotics: Certain antibiotics when consumed, stimulate the growth of the yeast organisms thereby making you a yeast infected woman.

4. Poorly controlled Diabetes: Due to poor control over Diabetes, the sugar levels in your urine, vagina and blood start increasing rapidly and this results in increased yeast growth.

5. Stress: It is found in many women going through stressful phases in their lives that stress leads to yeast infections in them, though doctors have not fully confirmed this connection.
